The Common Ground Open Science March 20, 2026 Event Reservation

IGNITE and the Gotham Data Clinic are collaborating to host a half-day symposium on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 12:00-5:00 PM EST, focused on engaging community science and rebuilding societal trust through Open Science.

The event will take place at the City University of New York School of Medicine, NAC Ballroom, 160 Convent Ave, New York, NY, 10031. Please submit your registration by Monday, March 18, 2026, 11:59PM EST.

The symposium will feature a panel discussion with leaders who bring deep expertise in expanding access to science and technology learning, alongside opportunities to connect with peers across disciplines.

This event is designed for members of the Open Science Ecosystem, including science communicators and advocates, researchers, educators, and nonprofit organizers. By convening individuals who engage with science and society from diverse perspectives, we aim to foster civic engagement, surface shared challenges, highlight available resources, and explore pathways to rebuilding trust in science.

The symposium will also showcase a new tool focused on expanding access to data science education, as well as the work of several scientific nonprofit organizations. Attendees will have ample opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and learn from one another throughout the afternoon.

Participants are encouraged to sign up for a lightning talk or poster presentation to increase organizational visibility, spark dialogue, and share their work. If you require assistance with poster printing, please indicate this in the registration survey. If you plan to present a poster, please complete this registration form by March 1, 2026, 11:59 PM EST and indicate "yes" to poster submission. If you are selected to present a poster, you will need to have your poster submitted by March 6, 2026, 11:59PM EST.
